Crafting Set Items in Last Epoch involves a unique system that allows you to create powerful gear with set bonuses by using Set Item Shards. Here’s how it works:

What Are Set Item Shards?
Set Item Shards are fragments obtained by shattering an existing Set Item Last Epoch Gold. To get these shards, you must first acquire a copy of the Set Item you want, then take it to the crafting station at the end of The Great Bridge Woven Echo. There, you can shatter the Set Item to receive its corresponding Set Item Shards.

How to Craft Set Items
1. Shatter to Obtain Shards: Place the Set Item at the crafting station in The Great Bridge Woven Echo and shatter it to get Set Item Shards.
2. Apply Shards to Items: These shards can then be crafted onto other items that accept shards, such as Exalted items. However, the crafted item must be of the same type as the original Set Item shard (e.g., a shard from a one-handed sword Set Item can only be applied to one-handed swords).
3. Benefits: Crafting with Set Item Shards transfers some of the original Set Item’s affixes and grants the Set Bonus when wearing multiple pieces of the set. For example, the Blade of the Forgotten Knight shard provides increased void damage and a chance to gain haste on hit, along with the set bonuses from The Forgotten Knight set.

Important Notes
1. You cannot craft Set Item affixes onto Legendary items or combine them with items that have Legendary Potential, as Set Item affixes are exclusive to certain item types and crafting methods.
2. Crafting is done in the Forge, accessed by pressing 'F', where you can add affixes, upgrade them, or apply shards using crafting materials like Shards, Runes, and Glyphs.
3. Forging Potential limits how much you can craft on an item; once it reaches zero, the item cannot be further crafted.
4. Shattering items is a key part of crafting to recover affix shards, which fuel further crafting attempts buy Last Epoch Gold.

This system allows players to customize and build powerful gear sets beyond simply finding them as drops, though it requires farming specific echoes and managing crafting resources effectively.
