Read the Map: Demand Determines Value

Every region in Skull and Bones has a unique economy. Before setting sail with Skull and Bones Silver a hold full of trade goods, check your map. Zoom into different regions, like The Giant’s Leap, and hover your cursor over the territory. A sidebar will display two lists: “Highest In Demand” and “In Plentiful Supply.”

Items listed as “Highest In Demand” are what local merchants are willing to pay extra for. Conversely, items “In Plentiful Supply” are being sold everywhere in that zone, meaning you'll get paid less for them. The key to profit is buying low in one region and selling high in another, and your map is the compass guiding that strategy.

Keep in mind, though, this information is only available after you’ve explored the region thoroughly. You’ll need to uncover the fog of war before these insights become available.

Merchant Comparison: Don’t Settle for the First Offer

When you arrive at a port, don’t immediately dump your cargo. Most ports offer at least two merchants: one near the docks and another inland. Each might offer different prices depending on the current demand.

Look at the arrows under each item in the sales menu. Red arrows pointing down mean lower-than-average prices, while green arrows (especially double arrows) indicate above-average offers. Target items with green arrows to ensure you’re getting premium rates.

It’s a simple system, but it makes a big difference — especially when you’re carrying valuable cargo.

Work with the Commodity Trader for Reliable Profits

The Commodity Trader is usually your best bet for high-value deals. They're located in most major trading hubs and typically offer better prices than standard merchants.

Watch closely for what they’re buying in bulk. If you notice that a commodity is in high supply at one trader, you may be able to buy it cheaply there and offload it elsewhere where demand is high. This buy-and-sell strategy is the foundation of successful trading in Skull and Bones and can lead to buy skull and bones boosting significant gold gains if you plan ahead.
